What is mojaPay?

mojaPay is a payments management and processing platform for suppliers, merchants and individuals that is targeted at the unbanked and underbanked markets. The platform allows you to receive and request mojas as well buy and pay for services seamlessly.

What are mojas?

A moja is a mojaPay internal currency that is equivalent to the rand. For example, R100.00 equals to 100 mojas. It doesn’t affect the value of your money and is simply used for internal reference in the mojaPay platform.

I transferred money into one of the nominated bank accounts but my wallet never got recharged

It is possible that we could not associate the reference number you used to any client account in our system and the money is sitting in our suspense account. Please email and quote the reference number used in your transfer and one of our friendly customer care consultants will assist you.

I tried to process a transaction on mojaPay and money was deducted but I could not get my transaction completed. What will happen to my money?

If you make use of a wallet and we picked up a technical fault, we will automatically reverse money to your wallet and let you know of the problem that may have occured. You may try again at a later stage or contact us to assist you with the transaction.

I am interested in signing up as a mojaPay merchant or agent to make use of the services in the mojaPay platform

Please download the app on the app stores for android and iOS and sign up seamlessly if you are a client or agent prospect. Please make use of the contact form on our website to send us a message and we’ll get in touch to discuss with you to discuss your requirements if your are a Supplier or Super Agent prospect.

I am interested in signing up as a mojaPay SubAgent to offer services to my community and customers

Signing up as a SubAgent is a process that is managed by the mojaPay Agents. Please contact us on to get a list of Agents in your area.

I have a balance on my wallet, can I redeem this balance for cash?

This is possible only through a selected and approved agent network. You will request or purchase a mojaPay mojas voucher from one of our agents, who will happily exchange it for cash with you. Please note that this transaction will attract fees as defined in our fees structure.

How do I Top up my mojaPay wallet?

Various methods exist for topping up your mojaPay wallet

  • Make a transfer to our nominated bank accounts across FNB, Standard Bank, ABSA, Nedbank. The details are contained under the wallet recharge instructions in the app. South African ID holders must use their South African ID number as a reference and Non-South African ID holders must use their Passport Number as a reference.
  • Purchase a mojas top up voucher from the selected and participating agents and they will assist you with loading this voucher into your wallet.
  • Make an instant EFT into your mojaPay wallet.
What fees will mojaPay charge me for various services?

mojaPay exists on the principle of inclusion for everyone. Our fee structure is competitive and built to ensure that we only get paid when you get value from mojaPay. Our fee structure is available under the Fees menu on our website.

When do I receive my payments that have been processed through mojaPay?

Our interest is to facilitate payments processing for our valued suppliers and merchants and we are committed to making daily settlements of all received payments to ensure a healthy cash flow for your business.
